Another week gone

Well....this week was full of nothing so I filled it up!  This was the week to sew bibs for little CP Lydia who lives at the hospital at Moa Un. Eldoret Kenya.  Lydia is around 10 years of age...drulls a lot because of C P. and being mute.  So...every 6 months I send bibs to her.  She lives at the hospital because no orphanage wants to take her because of her limitations.  That's life for a few children in Kenya.  So...fussy bibs with lace and buttons and beautiful prints.  It's something I can do while living in Indiana.  12 will be on their way in December.  My friend Vikki posted knitted socks on line and that's the next tackle.  I think I can understand the pattern.  We have two couples leaving church, moving to be near their children.  So...reception for them happened yesterday.  I was asked if there were still flowers in the garden and that answer was yes...So...Sat. I shuffled off to church and made 15 centerpieces.  Lots of fun and they looked fantastic.  Well, I thought so.  Sunday I read scripture for both services...I love to do that.  And then a good snooze yesterday afternoon.  Watched the Colts win the first half...went to bed and they lost the second half.  Grrrrr.  Stuff happening this week.

The next Sun.

I said should be easy.  Well...we'll see.  We're off to Panara's tonight for pastries and then tomorrow another morning in the Community Rm with hospitality but there also is a Creation Care Festival in Fellowship Hall and Charlotte thinks I need to do the table decorations for a luncheon.  Oh, Dear.  So...I cut lots of ornamental grass from the yard and I'll be taking cut flowers in the morning to lay on the tables that need decorating.  How many tables...don't know at this point but it all will be well, I'm sure.  Today was our annual Choir Retreat.  It was a great 6 hrs of singing and lunch together and just a lot of laughs.  What a wonderful group of friends.  Yesterday I spent a few hrs. with my cousin Ada.  He grandson is at Riley for back surgery which happened yesterday morning.  And it appears that all is well again.  Doctors...such great fixer uppers.  Got to love them.  Thurs. was soup kitchen morning.  Lots of folks were in attendance.  It was a surprise since for the most part the first of the month is a little slim with numbers BUT...not Thursday.  It's the most unpredictable event of the month.  Most of the folks were there to eat within the first 30 minutes.  We did run out of food which happens on occasion.  So...that's it for today.

Sunday

I am so glad today is over.  It's not a good thing to dread Sundays but that sort of was the case today.  It just gets to busy at church. We got to church around 7 which is a usual thing...got all of the hospitality food ready for community and church folks.  But before I even did that there was a lot to get ready for the service.  Yesterday's wedding pushed all of the work to this morning before the 8 30 service.  Today Worship was the theme of the morning.  And...people processed into the service with the candles. banner, offering plates, flowers etc. etc.  Then I sang with the quartet at the first service.  Woo...Back to the hospitality room with a   clean up around 10:15.  Choir rehearsal at 10:30...Church at 11:00.  I was asked to take communion to folks in the pew who could not walk easily.  After church helped to put things back that we used...helped to clean up communion and we left church around 12:45.

Well...not long after getting home I was asleep!  Long nap.  Slow afternoon.  I did go back to church for a great chili cook off.  Yum.  Yum.  Fun to attend an event where I don't do a thing but visit and eat.  Tomorrow the calendar is clear.  Woo, woo.  Might work in the garden if the weather is good.  But...I'm not pushing it.

Taking Tylenol for my hip.  I think it's time for the pain to be gone!!!!  Wish that would happen with no pills but I guess that is not the case.  But very hopeful that this will work.

So...that's sort of what's happened today.  Next Sunday should be EASY.
